Summary

Our client, a leading provider of specialist educational services in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-time Specialist SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Tutor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing individualised learning support to students with diverse educational needs.

As a Part-time Specialist SEND Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored educational programmes to students within our client's alternative provision setting. Your primary responsibility will be to work one-on-one with each student, utilising your expertise and experience to address their unique learning requirements and help them achieve their full potential.

In this role, you will be expected to:

- Conduct thorough assessments of each student's learning needs, strengths, and areas for development.

- Develop and implement personalised learning plans that incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies and resources.

- Deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of your students.

- Collaborate closely with the student's family, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to their education.

- Monitor and track student progress, making adjustments to the learning plans as necessary.

- Maintain detailed records of student performance and progress, and provide regular updates to the relevant stakeholders.

- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of SEND education.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

- A relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS, with a specialism in SEND education.

- Extensive experience (at least 2 years) in working with students with a variety of special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.

- A deep understanding of the latest educational policies, frameworks, and best practices in SEND provision.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

- Creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance the learning experience.

- A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to tailor your methods to the unique needs of each student.
