Tree Surveyor - West Midlands (covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire) - £31,000 – £38,800 + Bonus + Benefits

The Job:

An opportunity has arisen for Tree Surveyor to join a leading arboricultural consultancy operating across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's most experienced professionals on a diverse range of projects involving planning and development, tree risk management, veteran tree assessments, contract administration and tree population management. Working across the West Midlands region, you will undertake a combination of field-based surveys, reporting and client-facing consultancy work, with opportunities to develop your technical expertise and progress your career within a highly supportive environment.

Travel to projects throughout the UK will be required, with all travel, accommodation and subsistence costs covered by the business.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertake tree surveys, inventories and field based data collection

- Carry out BS5837 surveys and assessments in support of planning and development projects

- Conduct tree risk surveys and inspections

- Complete site inspections and monitor works associated with development projects

- Produce technical reports including tree inventories, BS5837 reports, tree risk assessments and supporting documentation

- Support planning applications, Tree Preservation Order applications and arboricultural management plans

- Provide advice relating to tree management, development constraints and arboricultural best practice

- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders

- Support project delivery across a range of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects

- Contribute to ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing within the consultancy team

The Candidate:

- Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture or a related discipline

- 1–3 years' experience undertaking field-based arboricultural surveys and data collection

- Good tree identification skills and sound arboricultural knowledge

- Experience with BS5837 surveys and reporting desirable

- Experience undertaking tree risk surveys and inspections advantageous

- Ability to produce accurate technical reports and maintain detailed records

- Strong communication and client relationship skills

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team

- Organised, proactive and inquisitive approach to problem solving

- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required

The Package

- Salary of £31,000 – £38,800 DOE

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
