About the Role
A welcoming and well-established school in Middleton is seeking an organised and professional School Administrator to join their busy office team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a school.
As a School Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and staff, providing a friendly and efficient front-of-house service while carrying out a variety of administrative duties. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's daily operations and ensuring high standards of organisation and communication are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for visitors, parents, pupils, and staff.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries, directing them to the appropriate members of staff.
- Maintain accurate pupil records using the school's Management Information System (MIS).
- Assist with attendance monitoring, admissions, and general school administration.
- Produce letters, reports, newsletters, and other documentation as required.
- Manage incoming and outgoing post and maintain confidential records.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff with administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with school procedures, GDPR, and safeguarding requirements.

The Successful Applicant Will
- Have previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Have strong communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Be professional, approachable, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Have the right to work in the UK and be available to work full-time.
Desirable:
- Previous experience using school MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or ScholarPack.
- Knowledge of school attendance procedures and safeguarding processes.
- Experience working within a busy reception or office environment.
- Business Administration qualification or equivalent.
