Summary

Everest Recruitment & Services Ltd is recruiting FY2 Doctors and doctors with equivalent Foundation Year 2 experience for temporary medical locum assignments across Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland.

We regularly receive short-term, long-term and ad-hoc requirements within hospital services, particularly in:

General Medicine

General Surgery

Acute medical wards

Inpatient medical services

Surgical wards

Assessment and admissions units

Hospital rota and vacancy cover

Opportunities may be available across Belfast, Antrim, Coleraine, Newtownards, Lisburn and other Northern Ireland locations, depending on current HSC Trust requirements.

Successful applicants will work as part of a consultant-led multidisciplinary team, providing safe clinical care within their demonstrated level of competence. The exact duties will depend on the specialty, hospital, rota and individual assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

Assessing patients and obtaining appropriate clinical histories.

Conducting clinical examinations under appropriate senior supervision.

Requesting and reviewing investigations in accordance with local protocols.

Developing and implementing clinical management plans with senior medical support.

Reviewing patients on medical or surgical wards.

Participating in consultant-led and Registrar-led ward rounds.

Clerking new admissions and completing appropriate documentation.

Monitoring patients and recognising clinical deterioration.

Escalating concerns promptly to senior doctors and the wider clinical team.

Supporting the admission, transfer and discharge of patients.

Completing discharge summaries, prescriptions and clinical correspondence accurately.

Undertaking clinical procedures appropriate to the doctor’s training, competence and authorised scope of practice.

Providing clear verbal and written handovers.

Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.

Using electronic patient record systems such as EPIC, Encompass or other Trust-approved systems where required.

Working collaboratively with Consultants, Registrars, nursing staff, pharmacists, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Participating in teaching, clinical audit, quality improvement and governance activities where required.

Following GMC standards, safeguarding responsibilities, infection prevention procedures and HSC Trust policies.

FY2 doctors must work within their professional competence and seek senior clinical advice whenever required. Applicants will not be expected to undertake duties beyond their verified training, experience or level of supervision.

This is temporary medical locum agency work. Assignment availability, location, duration, rota and weekly hours depend on individual HSC Trust requirements and cannot be guaranteed.

Payment will normally be made through PAYE. Individual assignments may be assessed as inside IR35 by the client organisation.
