Are you passionate about supporting women to rebuild their lives and move towards independence? We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Day Support Worker to join a supportive housing service in Bristol, working with women who have experienced homelessness and other complex challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting women to access services, build confidence, develop independent living skills, and achieve positive outcomes. You'll be working within a person-centred environment where every day brings the opportunity to empower someone to take the next step forward.
The Role: As a Day Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them maintain their accommodation and work towards their personal goals. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing person-centred support to women with a history of homelessness.
- Supporting residents with housing-related issues, appointments, and accessing community services.
- Encouraging independence, wellbeing, and positive life choices.
- Building professional and trusting relationships with residents.
- Maintaining accurate records and support plans.
- Working alongside colleagues and external agencies to deliver effective support.
- Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, and equality at all times.
About You: We're looking for compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals who are committed to supporting vulnerable people. To be successful, you will have:
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK within a relevant field such as homelessness, housing, mental health, supported living, social care, or community support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships and maintain professional boundaries.
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by women who have experienced homelessness.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
Desirable:
- A current DBS registered on the Update Service.
