Summary
Location: Flexible across the UK, with a preference for Birmingham, Olney, Bromsgrove, Cardiff or ManchesterHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We're looking for a commercially astute Legal Counsel to join our team supporting Mitie's growing Power & Grid division. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-value projects that support critical infrastructure across the UK, partnering closely with operational, commercial and leadership teams to provide pragmatic legal advice and help drive business success.
Role Responsibilities
-Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and project agreements
-Advising on construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, including NEC contracts
-Providing clear, risk-based legal advice on operational, procurement and commercial matters
-Supporting stakeholders with compliance, governance and contractual risk management
-Developing legal processes, contract templates and governance frameworks to drive continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
-Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) & relevant experience gained in private practice or an in-house environment
-Strong experience in construction, engineering or projects law, ideally within the Power, Energy or Utilities sector
-Working knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery frameworks
-Excellent commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
-The ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and confidently to non-legal stakeholders
-A collaborative and proactive approach with the confidence to influence and challenge when required
