We’re looking for a kind, reliable and upbeat Personal Assistant to support a young-at-heart 53-year-old lady living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). She’s friendly, has a great sense of humour and enjoys a good chat, so we’re looking for someone who’ll bring a smile to her mornings as well as provide practical support.

No previous experience with MND is necessary – the right personality is far more important. If you’re caring, patient, dependable and happy to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Friendly, compassionate and trustworthy

• Reliable and punctual

• Happy working independently

• Calm, patient and able to build a genuine rapport

• Willing to learn (full guidance on equipment and routines will be provided)

If you’re looking for a rewarding part-time role where you can genuinely brighten someone’s day while becoming part of a supportive household, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

Preparing and helping with breakfast (usually cereal)

Giving medication

Taking her upstairs to get ready for the day (full support and training provided, with assistance from her partner if required, or using the stairlift and hoists)

Washing her face, hands and underarms

Cleaning her teeth

Getting her dressed (top half only)

Preparing and feeding her lunch (simple meals such as scrambled eggs or soup – anything more substantial will already be prepared).

Most importantly, providing friendly company and helping make the morning enjoyable.

What’s not required:

• No showering.

• No toilet assistance.

• No intimate personal care.

Her partner takes care of those aspects, allowing you to focus on helping her start her day comfortably and positively

There is one dog in the house.
