About the Role

You will support learners enrolled on a range of programmes from Level 2 through to Level 3, including full‑time study programmes and Level 3 apprenticeships.

Level 2 courses focus on core intermediate knowledge, while Level 3 develops advanced vocational and technical skills.

You will help plan, deliver and assess learning that is current, engaging and relevant—supporting both young people and adults to achieve their full potential and progress into sustainable roles within the building services industry.

Entry Requirements for both roles

To join us, you must already hold:

Level 3 Electrical qualification

Level 2 (GCSE) Maths and English at grade 4 or above or equivalent

Teaching Route (Qualified or Trainee Teacher):

You do not need a teaching qualification to join us in Further Education. What matters is your passion for developing tomorrow’s workforce.

Apprenticeship route:

As an Apprentice Teacher, you will:

Be employed full-time on a permanent contract**

Spend part of the week working in the Electrical team at our Harlow Campus

Spend part of the week training at Harlow College

Follow a personalised training plan designed around your needs

You will teach young people across the Education and Training Sector (ETS), collaborating closely with colleagues to support learner progress and wellbeing.

On‑Programme Requirements

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will complete:

On‑programme Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs)

Evidenced through your paid teaching role at Harlow College

Teacher Training Course

Delivered one day per week at the College

Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE, grade 4+)

Required before the programme begins

This apprenticeship typically takes up to 2 years to complete. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded Level 5 Teaching Certification, qualifying you as a fully trained Teacher.
