Are you an experienced engineering or aviation professional looking for a unique overseas opportunity?

We are looking for a Technical Assurance Supervisor (TAS) to support the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of airfield operations and technical services on Ascension Island. Working within a highly operational environment, you will play a key role in maintaining engineering standards, assuring service quality, supporting aircraft operations, and leading technical compliance activities across multiple departments.

What You'll Be DoingReporting to the Airfield Operations Manager (AOM), you will:

-Ensure airfield engineering standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements are implemented and maintained.

-Support the safe and efficient delivery of aircraft movements and associated airfield activities.

-Maintain technical documentation in line with CAA, MAA, MoD, JSP, TDOL, and manufacturer requirements.

-Manage and assure compliance within the Ground Equipment Section (GES), Motor Transport Mechanical Section (MTMS), and Visiting Aircraft Handling Section (VAHS).

-Maintain the equipment management system (JAMES), carrying out inspections and compliance checks.

-Monitor the quality of maintenance and engineering activities across the airhead.

-Coordinate training requirements and development plans for technical personnel.

-Conduct audits and support external inspections.

-Provide technical advice and assurance to operational management.

-Deputise for GES and MTMS Supervisors when required.

-Oversee the VAHS department and conduct annual staff appraisals.

-Support maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis, and repair activities on Ground Support Equipment (GSE), vehicles, boats, and associated equipment.

-Support supply, FIRS operations, ship-to-shore transfers, and pipeline maintenance activities when required.

-Provide updates on Mission Critical equipment status and immediately escalate serviceability concerns.

What We're Looking ForEssential

-Experience working within a mechanical, electrical, engineering, maintenance, or workshop environment.

-Understanding of technical compliance and quality assurance processes.

-Familiarity with aerodrome operations and military aviation procedures.

-Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to engage confidently with colleagues, managers, military personnel, and stakeholders.

-Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

-Full, clean HGV driving licence.

Desirable

-Military engineering or aviation engineering background.

-Experience within MoD, Defence, aviation, or airfield environments.

-TG5 JNCO or above, or equivalent civilian supervisory experience.

-Knowledge of MAA, CAA, JSP, and MoD technical regulations.

-Experience using engineering asset management systems such as JAMES.

-MoD Basic Security Clearance.
