Summary

Summary:
The Driver/Technician is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and person-centred transport and support services to residents within the community. The role involves transporting service users through the Transport from Home service, delivering Meals at Home, and ensuring accessible vehicles are operated safely and efficiently. The postholder will play a vital role in supporting the independence, wellbeing, and quality of life of residents by delivering services with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
Responsibilities:
Safely transport residents using the council's Transport from Home service, ensuring a comfortable and positive journey experience.
Assist passengers when boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring appropriate use of accessibility equipment and safety restraints.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections, reporting defects and ensuring vehicles remain roadworthy, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with service users, carers, colleagues, and supervisors regarding service requirements or changes.
Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation, council policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding requirements.
