Summary

We are seeking a dependable and proactive School Caretaker to join a busy school in Sutton Coldfield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

As the School Caretaker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are well maintained, compliant with health and safety standards, and fully operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the security, safety, and overall upkeep of the school buildings and grounds.

• Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general handyman duties.

• Ensure the premises remain clean, safe, and presentable for pupils, staff, and visitors.

• Conduct regular health and safety inspections, reporting and addressing any issues as required.

• Liaise with external contractors and oversee maintenance work carried out on site.

• Set up classrooms, halls, and other facilities for school events, meetings, and activities.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimise disruption to the school day.
