You will play a vital role in maintaining high standards across our buildings while balancing heritage sensitivity,

sustainability, and modern compliance requirements.

Who are we?

At Bolton Abbey Estate, part of the prestigious Devonshire Group, we are guided by our core values: Always Improving – Decency -

Being Inclusive.

Set within 26,500 acres of breathtaking landscape in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the estate is home to a diverse portfolio

including farms, woodland, residential and commercial properties, heritage assets such as the 12th-century Bolton Priory, and

thriving visitor, hospitality, and retail businesses.

With over 1,400 employees across the UK and Ireland, the Devonshire Group offers a unique opportunity to work within a historic

yet forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Project Management:

* Oversee reactive and planned maintenance, refurbishment, compliance works, and capital projects across the estate.

* Use property management systems to manage repairs, maintenance, and compliance records.

* Liaise with tenants and occupiers, including recharging costs where appropriate.

* Appoint and coordinate external consultants (e.g. architects, engineers, planners).

* Prepare specifications, drawings, and tender documents for construction projects.

* Monitor works for quality, safety, value for money, and compliance.

* Manage defects periods and ensure issues are resolved promptly.

* Provide technical input on feasibility, design, and planning compliance.

* Support maintenance of the estate’s private water supply.

* Promote and incorporate sustainable building practices.

Health & Safety:

* Appoint contractors in line with approval processes and ensure appropriate contracts (e.g. JCT) are in place.

* Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and wider H&S legislation.

* Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

* Maintain compliance with Devonshire Group H&S systems.

Finance:

* Manage procurement processes, including tendering and contractor selection.

* Ensure purchase orders and contracts are in place.

* Monitor progress against budgets and project timelines.

* Assist with budgeting and financial reporting.

What we offer

This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in shaping one of the UK’s most iconic rural estates. You will work within a

supportive and collaborative environment, contributing to a business that values heritage, sustainability, and continuous

improvement.

You will also benefit from access to the wider Devonshire Group, including Colleague benefits, estate access, and opportunities to

engage with a diverse and dynamic organisation.
