The Best Connection is currently recruiting two experienced MIG Welders on behalf of our established manufacturing client based in the heart of West Bromwich.

Pay Rate

£16.17 per hour (including shift allowance)

Rate of pay is dependent on experience.

Shift Patterns

Morning Shift

Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00

Friday: 06:00 - 13:00

Afternoon Shift

Monday to Thursday: 14:00 - 22:00

Friday: 14:00 - 20:00

The Role

As a MIG Welder, you will play a key role in the manufacture of high-quality products, ensuring all work is completed to specification while maintaining production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

Working within a busy and professional manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for producing quality welds and contributing to the overall success of the production team.

Key Responsibilities

MIG weld a variety of manufactured products

Set up welding equipment and associated machinery

Read and interpret 2D engineering drawings

Manufacture components to required production rates

Report any quality or production issues promptly

Take ownership of finished product quality

Maintain accurate production and quality records

Adhere to 5S housekeeping standards

Support continuous improvement initiatives

Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous production MIG welding experience

Experience welding mild steel and pre-galvanised steel

The ability to read and work from 2D engineering drawings

A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A positive attitude and strong work ethic

The motivation to achieve production targets safely and efficiently

A willingness to uphold the company's ATIRE and SQDC values
