Senior Tractor Driver

Senior Tractor Driver - Angus - £40,000 - £50,000

The Job:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Tractor Driver to join a progressive potato and arable farming business in Angus. Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a key role in delivering all seasonal field operations across approximately 200 hectares of potatoes. This is a varied, hands on position involving cultivation, planting, spraying, irrigation, harvesting and operating modern GPS-guided machinery, while also supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the farm's machinery fleet.

Key responsibilities:

- Carry out seasonal field operations including cultivation, planting, spraying, irrigation and harvesting

- Operate modern tractors, GPS guidance systems and specialist agricultural machinery

- Operate the potato harvester during harvest and support efficient lifting operations

- Assist with the servicing, maintenance and repair of farm machinery and potato equipment

- Work closely with the Farm Manager to plan and deliver field operations safely and efficiently

- Maintain high standards of crop production, machinery care and health and safety

- Support the wider farm team during busy seasonal periods

- Ensure accurate operation of machinery to maximise efficiency and productivity

The Candidate:

- Proven experience operating modern tractors and agricultural machinery within a commercial arable farming environment

- Experience using GPS guidance systems, with good mechanical knowledge and the ability to maintain farm machinery and equipment

- Previous experience in potato production or operating specialist potato machinery would be advantageous

- Practical, hands on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

- Full UK driving licence; PA1, PA2 or telehandler certificates would be beneficial

- Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to producing work to a consistently high standard

- Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
