We are recruiting for the position of HGV Technician on behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable automotive group committed to providing exceptional service and supporting staff development. Duties of the HGV Technician:

- Performing major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and other commercial vehicles

- Conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, including tyre rotations and oil changes

- Diagnosing vehicle faults accurately and implementing appropriate repairs

- Maintaining a clean workshop and managing inventory of parts and tools

- Keeping detailed records of repairs, inspections, and service history

- Carrying out emergency repairs at customer locations when required

- Completing warranty claims, service documentation, and escalating issues as needed

- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations

Requirements:

- Level 3 (NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI) qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent

- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or in a similar position

- Full UK driving licence relevant to the vehicle classes worked on

- Strong diagnostic and repair skills with a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance

- Ability to identify faults in line with DVSA standards

- Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively within a team and liaising with customers

- Ability to work accurately within deadlines and maintain detailed records
