Location: Erith, Kent (Near Dartford / South East London)

Salary: £23.00 per hour DOE | £58,000 per year | OTE £63,800

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Additional: 1 in 2 Saturdays, 5:00am to 1:00pm

    Are you an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician looking for your next opportunity in Erith?

    We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy and modern commercial vehicle workshop based in Erith, ideally located for candidates from Dartford, Bexley, Gravesend, and South East London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician to earn £58,000 per year with an OTE of £63,800, while benefiting from manufacturer training, overtime opportunities, and genuine long-term career progression.

    Working within a professional dealership workshop, you'll carry out servicing, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs and trailers, ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest manufacturer and DVSA standards.

    Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment

  • Complete planned maintenance inspections, PMIs, and MOT preparation

  • Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards

  • Support breakdown repairs when required

  • Accurately complete job cards, service records, and workshop documentation

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised commercial vehicle workshop

  • Work efficiently to maximise vehicle uptime and workshop productivity

    • Skills and Experience

    Essential

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician

  • Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, IMI, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

  • Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills

  • Experience servicing and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles

  • Ability to work to manufacturer and DVSA standards

  • Full UK driving licence

    • Desirable

  • Diagnostics and electrical fault finding experience

  • IRTEC accreditation

  • HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence

  • Main dealership experience
