Summary
We have an excellent opportunity for a new or recently qualified HND/Degree level graduate in a relevant discipline to join our busy Care and Repair team in this trainee role focused on client support, case administration, production of technical drawings and the provision of technical advice and guidance throughout the major adaptations process.
Company Information
Argyll And Bute Care And Repair are a private limited company and an independent registered Scottish charity, funded primarily via the Argyll and Bute Health And Social Care Partnership to provide practical advice and assistance, technical services and helpful information to the elderly, disabled and those living with long term debilitating conditions, to enable them to remain in their own homes in comfort for as long as they wish. Our people and services cover the whole of Argyll and Bute mainland and the islands. More details on what we do can be found at https://www.abcr.org.uk ;;
The Role
This trainee post would suit someone who is organised, approachable and keen to build a career in a community-focused service that helps improve peoples’ living situation. You do not need to be a technical expert from day one; full support and training will be provided as you develop confidence in the role.
The position is home based, although there is an opportunity to work from the Oban office if required and practical to do so. Your induction and training will be carried out under the guidance of our senior Care and Repair Officer. As you progress, you will support clients within a specific geographic locality within Argyll and Bute, keeping case records up to date, arranging appointments, visiting clients in their own homes and attending Care and Repair meetings and business meetings with local authority colleagues or Occupational Therapists as and where required.
You will need to demonstrate good communication, organisation and time management skills, as the role involves regular contact with clients, colleagues, suppliers, contractors, housing grants officers and Occupational Therapists. A friendly, professional approach and attention to detail will be important.
