Summary

The Renal Unit at St. Helier Hospital, in collaboration with DaVita, is in charge of the new hospital site dialysis unit.

As a tertiary renal referral center, the St. Helier Renal Unit has been providing renal replacement therapy for more than 50 years. It is among the top five in England.

With 28 dialysis stations, the St. Helier Haemodialysis Unit can initially hold 150 patients.

We are seeking a dynamic, driven renal nurse with outstanding leadership and dialysis expertise.

It is expect that the successful candidate will perform on-call duties, which are scheduled from 11 PM to 6 AM, within the Acute HD setup.

The Staff Nurse will deliver high quality nursing care to patients, as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to dialysis patients as well as ensuring an excellent learning environment for patient and staff.

With the support of the Clinical Matron and Lead Clinicians, he/ she will need to provide holistic care to renal dialysis patients and comply with specific infection and dialysis guidelines.

The post holder must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the capacity to work autonomously as a clinical expert. He/she will preferably need to have renal nursing experience, or have a keen interest to be trained in dialysis care. He/she must also be self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
