Summary
The Lead Operative is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and compliant production and warehouse operations. This role ensures raw materials and finished goods are handled correctly, food safety and quality standards are met, production targets are achieved, and operational documentation is completed accurately. The Lead Operative also provides day-to-day operational leadership and supports continuous improvement across production activities.Working Hours however,occasional flexibility may be requested to support business needsKey Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesOperational & Production ResponsibilitiesInspect, receive, and store raw materials in line with company procedures.Identify, report, and communicate any raw material or packaging issuespromptly.Safely store and load finished goods in a timely manner.Operate, clean, and maintain machinery to pre-determined efficiency andoutput targets, ensuring operational safety at all times.Produce stock to agreed output rates and quality standards.Complete “Goods In” processes, including quality, integrity, quantity, andvehicle checks.Load and unload raw materials and finished goods as required, includingcompletion of all relevant documentation (FLT licence desirable).Food Safety, Quality & ComplianceComply fully with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as determined by theTechnical Manager.Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and legality standards at alltimes.Complete all food safety, quality, and legality checks and associateddocumentation in a timely and accurate manner.Maintain hygiene standards across all areas of the site, as outlined by siteleadership.Adhere to company Data Protection policies at all times.Documentation & ReportingComplete and manage all warehouse and production documentationaccurately.Record yield data and report day-to-day performance.Record SIC information as required.Complete all task-related documentation, including (but not limited to) metaldetector checks and in-line weight checks.Leadership, Training & Continuous ImprovementSupport the leadership team in developing and improving methods andprocesses to drive continuous improvement.Train and develop team members who require support in their professionaldevelopment.Provide operational support to other manufacturing operators to maintainproduction flow.Step up to cover the Team Leader role during periods of absence or annualleave (additional payment applies when acting in this capacity).Site & Behavioural StandardsMaintain respect for the facility and all work areas, ensuring communal areasand factory spaces are kept to a high standard.Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the leadership team.Additional Responsibilities – Lead OperativeDay-to-day operation of the 4-lane jar filling line and/or bulk filling line.Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production, quality, andoperational records.Act as a point of support for production teams to ensure smooth and efficientoperations.Skills & Experience (Desirable)Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.Strong understanding of food safety, quality, and GMP standards.Ability to lead by example and support team development.Competent in completing production and quality documentation.FLT licence essential.
