Lead OperativeLocation: Mansfield Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pmOvertime Available | Permanent RoleWe are supporting a client in their search for a proactive and dependable Lead Operative to join their growing food manufacturing team.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys supporting and developing others, and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and operational efficiency.About the RoleAs a Lead Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of their production and warehouse activities. Working closely with the Team Leader and Factory Manager, you will help drive performance, maintain compliance standards, support colleagues across the production floor, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.You will also have the opportunity to step up and cover Team Leader responsibilities when required, with additional payment available when acting in this capacity.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction ">Operate, monitor, clean, and maintain production machinery safely and efficientlyRun the 4-lane jar filling line and/or bulk filling lineEnsure production targets, output rates, and quality standards are achievedReceive, inspect, and store raw materials in accordance with company proceduresLoad, unload, and store finished goods safely and accuratelySupport the smooth flow of production activities across the factoryFood Safety ">Follow all GMP, food safety, quality, and compliance proceduresComplete quality, legality, and food safety checks accurately and on timeMaintain excellent hygiene standards throughout the facilityEnsure all products meet company and customer requirementsDocumentation ">Complete all production and warehouse documentation accuratelyRecord production yields and operational performance dataComplete checks including weight verification, metal detection, and goods-in inspectionsMaintain accurate records to support compliance and traceabilityLeadership ">Support and mentor team members on the production floorProvide guidance and assistance to operators when requiredHelp identify and implement process improvementsPromote a positive, professional, and safety-focused cultureWhat We're Looking ForEssentialFLT LicencePrevious experience within a manufacturing, production, or food production environmentStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to lead by example and support colleagues effectivelyGood understanding of health and safety practicesFlexible approach to working hours to support operational requirementsDesirableExperience within food manufacturing or FMCGKnowledge of GMP, food safety, and quality standardsExperience completing production and quality documentationPrevious experience supporting, mentoring, or supervising team membersWhat's In It For You?Following successful completion of probation, you'll receive:28 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysCompany events and team activitiesModern, clean, and well-maintained manufacturing facilityComplimentary company products on occasionOvertime opportunitiesAdditional payment when covering Team Leader responsibilitiesGenuine opportunities for career progression and development
