This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver looking for ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.The RoleAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for transporting timber products on flatbed trailers, ensuring all loads are delivered safely and securely. This role involves no handball, as all loading and unloading is completed using FLT.Duties Include:Delivering timber posts using Class 1 flatbed vehicles.Securing loads safely using correct strapping techniques.Ensuring all loads are transported in line with safety regulations.Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks.Completing delivery paperwork accurately.Communicating professionally with depot staff and transport teams.Adhering to drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and all road transport legislation.RequirementsValid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.Valid Driver CPC qualification.Digital Tachograph Card.Experience with flatbed and strapping essential.No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).Safety boots and high-visibility vest required.Flexible and reliable with good timekeeping.Ability to work early morning starts (06:00 AM).What We OfferCompetitive rates of pay.Ongoing, regular work with immediate starts available.Monday to Friday daytime shifts.Average shift length of 8–10 hours.No handball – FLT loaded/unloaded work.Opportunity for permanent employment.Weekly pay.Ongoing support from your dedicated Workchain Recruitment consultant.If you're an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for your next opportunity in Ilkeston, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today through the Workchain website.
