This role is suited to a reliable and safety-conscious driver with experience handling curtainsider vehicles and trunking work.About the companyThe company operates in the commercial vehicle sector, providing truck rental and contract hire services to businesses. Its activities also include vehicle maintenance, fleet support and compliance services, with operations based in Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands.The roleAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:• Completing planned trunking routes safely and efficiently• Driving and operating curtainsider vehicles• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each journey• Ensuring loads are secure and transported in line with legal requirements• Completing delivery paperwork and using relevant transport documentation• Maintaining good communication with transport teams and customers• Reporting defects, delays or delivery issues promptly• Working in accordance with road safety, company and health and safety proceduresSkills and qualifications• Valid HGV Class 1 licence, Category C+E• Current Driver CPC qualification• Previous experience driving curtainsider vehicles• Practical experience of trunking work• Good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations• A professional, dependable and safety-focused approach• Ability to complete vehicle checks and transport paperwork accurately• Strong communication skills and good time managementThis is a days-based temporary position offering £17 per hour in Leicester.
