This includes informing the consultant that patients have attended. • Ensure consultant rooms are always fit for use and cleaned. • Ensure security of the unit is maintained and action maintenance requests (where possible) as well as report any issues or difficulties to the customer service manager for Chelsea and Westminster Wing, and the midwife in charge for Kensington Wing. • Ensure that all phone calls are answered within 3 rings wherever possible and work with the consultants and their secretaries to ensure requests are met. • Progress private healthcare referrals by securing the most convenient appointment possible for the patient and ensure patients are contacted and kept up to date on their appointments and treatment plans. It would suit an experienced senior ITU speciality/registrar doctor who is interested in gaining further clinical experience/specialist interest area (SIA) prior to application for CCT/CESR/Portfolio pathway. We are a large & diverse 57 bedded ICU looking for a senior specialist clinical fellow to join us for, commencing in August 2024. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a doctor with an interest in critical care to develop as a clinician. The post is designed to provide a wide range of critical care experience, including peri-operative medicine for complex major surgery, neuro-intensive care, follow up clinic and working with a range of specialities to continue to develop critical care services within the Trust. We provide a wide range of training opportunities making these posts ideal for doctors hoping to enter specialty training at stage 2/3 or apply for CESR or portfolio pathway. • Contribute to the provision of a high quality, responsive critical care service to Barking,Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust that assumes responsibility for the patients within the catchment area in co-operation with colleagues in anaesthetics and other clinical departments. This will involve caring for patients on the ITUs and HDUs at Queen’s Hospital and/or King George Hospital, reviewing patients and initiating critical care treatment in Accident & Emergency, theatre recovery and ward areas, and undertaking transfer of patients (both intra- and inter-hospital). • Comply with the agreed job plan, which will be reviewed annually. • Participate in an emergency out of hours resident on-call cover for critical care medicine. • Contribute to postgraduate and continuing education for medical, nursing, technical staff, GP’s and other allied professions. • Deputise in the absence of departmental colleagues in cases of annual leave and (where practicable) short-term sickness.
