Summary
Although this position is a 9 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 9 months.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated pharmacist to provide highly specialised clinical pharmacy service across Critical care and Surgery at Whipps Cross Hospital.
Working within a supportive team that includes senior rotational and foundation pharmacists and with the guidance from the lead pharmacist for Surgery and Anaesthetics and the Deputy Head of Pharmacy, you will lead on the delivery of advanced clinical pharmacy services for these specialties, ensuring optimal medicines use, patient safety and cost-effective prescribing.
The post holder will be the site-lead pharmacist for Surgery & Critical Care at Whipps Cross University Hospital, with specialist cross site responsibility for Surgery & Critical care pharmacy services. The post holder will be the Trust lead pharmacist for Ophthalmology pharmacy services
To promote the responsible, safe and cost-effective prescribing of medicines within the surgical speciality in order to optimise clinical outcomes, minimise adverse reactions and improve medicines safety.
