Although many of the responsibilities and expectations below are generic to the role of a learning support assistant (LSA), we are looking for someone with experience working with children with SEND, including an understanding of strategies to support children when they dysregulated and reluctant to engage with learning.Job Purpose To work with teachers to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan. The LSA role takes the responsibility for ensuring the participation of pupils in the social and academic practices of the school, enabling pupils to become more independent learners thereby helping to raise standards of achievement for all. To undertake specific duties across the school day as directed by the leadership team and provide support for any children who need it. They will usually work with small groups of children but may sometimes supervise or lead learning for whole classes, maintaining good order and keeping pupils on task. To role model the school’s values and be a fully integrated member of the school team and community with safeguarding at the heart of everything they do. Applicants should have: • A good level of written and spoken English.
