Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician – Patient Services (Outpatient) This post is based on Barnet Hospital of the Royal Free Hospital Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable Pharmacy Technician with good communication and interpersonal skills to take on this challenging post. Your role will involve working with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and other health care professionals on providing Medicines Management services at ward level. The post holder will support the outpatient pharmacists to issue out medicines our patients as per trust's policies. You will support the day-to-day coordination of the outpatient pharmacy by checking medicines for outpatient prescriptions, patient counselling and co-ordination of the supply of medicines to our patients. The post holder will support the co-ordination of the dispensary staff and workflow to provide a high quality and efficient patient orientated service. The post holder will be an accredited checking technician and will participate in the supply of medicines to inpatients, outpatients, wards and departments under the supervision of a pharmacist. The post holder will be responsible for and organise the day-to-day running of the Out-patient pharmacy. To monitor, develop and deliver the technical elements of the pharmaceutical service for patients in accordance with objectives set by the Chief Technician – Patient Services. This will include overseeing the ordering of medicines, ensuring safe, appropriate supply of stock to the wards and stock control throughout the dispensary. The post holder will support training and staff development by acting as a mentor/trainer for NVQ qualifications, in-house and external training/ accreditation. The SPA/OOHCR Senior Practitioner will play a crucial role in delivering urgent mental health support to people in mental health crisis. The SPA is CNWL’s 24/7 crisis line and urgent referral service where clinicians work primarily over the telephone to conduct clinical triages and support callers to access crisis support in a timely manner, and to remain in the community. The service also provides face to face crisis assessments between 8pm and 8am across Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, K&C and Westminster. Within these hours clinicians will travel to peoples’ homes and conduct assessments in order to provide an alternative to attending A&E. We believe that the best care is delivered by enthusiastic and skilled healthcare professionals who are passionate about crisis support and understanding of the social stressors that can contribute to people feeling distressed. The service values those with a wealth of experience of mental health conditions and their treatment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking surgeon for the position of Post-CCT Fellow in the Specialist Hip & Knee Unit. We are recruiting for: 1x 12 month post April 2027 – April 2028 A curriculum vitae will be required with the application form. The Specialist Hip & Knee Unit offers an exceptional fellowship opportunity for surgeons seeking advanced training in orthopaedic procedures. Led by a team of 12 substantive consultants, the fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to complex hip and knee arthroplasty, with unique flexibility for candidates to tailor their experience towards either arthroplasty, hip surgery or knee surgery. The Fellow’s post will provide exposure to all aspects of the management of patients with primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty and complex limb reconstruction. There will be ample opportunity to assist and gain experience with the full range of extremity and pelvic surgical cases. Attendance at arthroplasty MDT meetings is expected. The Fellow will be allocated to one of the sub teams within the unit and have the opportunity to rotate at 6 months. The Fellow will attend fixed outpatient clinics and operating lists. There will be opportunities to sit in clinic with the consultants as a learning experience as well as see patients independently. Likewise, in theatre, there will be opportunities to assist with complex surgical procedures as well as undertake surgery as the lead surgeon. As the fellow gains in experience they will be able to work more and more independently over time. There will be supervised research sessions. The post holder will be expected to present research at national and international meetings. The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital was founded in 1907 with the amalgamation of London’s three specialist orthopaedic hospitals into one single centre of excellence. We can therefore trace our history back to 1838 when the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital was founded. As a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care on the renal wards. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of medication reconciliation, a vital step in ensuring that patients receive the correct medications right from the start of their hospital stay. You will also be involved in the seamless management of Patients’ Own Medication, supporting the efficient and effective practice of one-stop dispensing. But your impact doesn't stop there. You will play a pivotal role in streamlining the patient experience, ensuring timely dispensation of To Take Out medications to support smooth and prompt patient discharges. Your adept communication skills will bridge connections with our community healthcare partners, ensuring that our patients receive a consistent and seamless continuum of care. You will be involved throughout the patient journey helping the wards to ensure TTOs are dispensed prior to discharge, communicating effectively with our community colleagues when appropriate. You will be an accredited checking technician (ACPT) and will have regular checking slots in the dispensary. In liaison with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services and other members of the pharmacy team you will also be involved in the management of medicines on the ward, audit and financial savings projects. You will participate in late duty, Bank Holiday and weekend rotas and be part of a seven day service.
