The Histopathology Service Co-ordinator will provide support for the JONAL and for the fibril typing service, histopathology and proteomics. The post holder will provide a high standard Histopathology Coordinator service which includes supporting the laboratory team in all aspects of administration associated with fibril typing and histological and immunohistochemical testing referrals. The post holder will be accountable for leading on all aspects of quality management related to nursing practice within the multi-speciality, predominately nurse-led ambulatory day care service. They will provide a visible presence with strong professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to develop nursing at a strategic and operational level within the service, ensuring that nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed effectively. The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, support, and advice on ambulatory day care to patients, carers, and across the service as a whole. Working closely with the Matron, Clinical Leads, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Operational and Service Managers and wider team, the post holder will help drive and shape the service as it evolves to meet the demands of commissioners and the local community, whilst supporting continued development of advanced nursing practice within the service.
