This role is based oi the services delivered by London Pathways Partnership (LPP) for the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway service in HMP Brixton. LPP is a consortium of five NHS Trusts. All LPP services are co-delivered with criminal justice partners, and aim to reduce reoffending, improve psychological wellbeing and develop the skills and confidence of the workforce. The London Pathways Unit (LPU) service in HMP Brixton is a residential unit for high-risk people in prison with significant psychological, emotional and personality difficulties who are approaching release. The post holder will offer assessment, interventions and desistance-focused resettlement support. This is an innovative role, which aims to enhance the development of appropriate pathways through custody and into the community for people in prison/on probation. It is open to psychologists with a demonstrated interest in working with complex psychological, emotional and personality difficulties within a forensic context, ideally including experience of working in a prison setting. The post provides numerous opportunities to develop leadership, consultation, liaison and training skills and clinical expertise and experience. As well as jointly delivering a service with prison and probation colleagues, the post holder will work closely with the wider forensic psychological therapies team, LPP and will have additional opportunities to develop skills and experience. Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Haematologist to undertake 10PAs at the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The Department is a specialist centre for haemoglobin and red cell disorders, operating as the centre for a large Red Cell Network. We also treat a wide range of malignant and benign conditions, including level 2B malignant haematology patients (salvage chemotherapy for lymphoma), with the exception of haemophilia, intensive treatment of acute leukaemia and bone marrow transplantation. We offer a comprehensive nurse-led anticoagulation service and we have an established hospital transfusion service. Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register (or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training or equivalent. The successful applicant will join a dynamic and friendly team to provide a full range of Clinical Haematology services at NMUH. The post-holder will have a comprehensive training in haematology and will be capable of handling the range of clinical and laboratory haematology problems that occur in the setting on a district general hospital. The post-holder will be encouraged and supported to develop an interest in myeloid disorders and will also lead on immune haematological disorders such as ITP and autoimmune haemolytic anaemia. The appointee will be expected to work with other specialities to develop service pathways and guidance related to cancer-associated thrombosis. and to develop the department’s research portfolio in non-malignant haematology. The post-holder will review General Haematology referrals, including two-week wait target referrals. They will be encouraged and supported to develop a specific interest in thrombosis, leading on obstetric haematology matters. They will also be the named lead for patients with immune-related haematological disorders. The post-holder will also have an opportunity to play an active role in the North London non-malignant research network, and to develop the research portfolio and drive recruitment into clinical studies involving non-malignant disorders at NMUH. This large acute Trust, serving a population of approximately 500,000 in North London, is a busy and ambitious hospital housed largely in recently refurbished facilities. The post-holder will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team of 6 consultant haematologists, 6 trainee doctors; 3 nurse specialists and a highly experienced Transfusion Practitioner. The team prides itself of its great deal of team-spirit and co-operation, with much flexibility and mutual support. The appointee will participate in an in-patient attending rota as well as in a 1 in 5 on-call rota out of hours. This post is available for 10.5 Programmed Activities (8.5 PAs direct clinical care and 1.5 PAs supporting professional activities). There is an expectation that by taking on other SPA roles, this ratio will become 7.5 DCC to 2.5 SPA and the provisional timetable has been written to reflect this. An indicative job plan/timetable for this post with indicative Programmed Activities (PAs) is provided below. A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and their clinical manager in line with the Job Planning Guidelines in force in the Trust.
