We are recruiting for a Band 8A Lead sonographer post, based across both our Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospital sites. Post holders will be responsible for leading the Ultrasound department and managing its day-to-day operations in the absence of senior management. The successful candidates will have extensive experience across a wide range of ultrasound modalities, including obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, and non-obstetric/general medical ultrasound. You will have a proven track record of teaching and mentoring students and staff. The role includes maintaining a clinical workload, performing ultrasound lists at an advanced practitioner level, act as practice educator to trainee and newly qualified sonographers and making clinical judgements based on the assessment and interpretation of ultrasound findings, including complex cases. A vacant position has arisen within the department of Respiratory Medicine & Allergy at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital for a full time AA & ILD Lead Nurse. This post combines the delivery of clinical care within the respective Allergy and Severe Ashma services with leadership of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. The Allergy service is a Royal College of Physicians Improving Quality in Allergy Services (IQAS) accredited Centre and the combined Severe Asthma & Allergy services is a World Allergy Organisation (WAO)-designated Centre of Excellence for 2026 2029. The postholder should be highly specialised in Allergy and/or Asthma and will be expected to undertake 50% of their working time within both specialities. The details will be outlined in a job plan agreed with the post holder on appointment. The post holder will be expected to undertake regular or at least one fixed Allergy Challenge session per week as part of their role. The remaining clinical aspect of the role will be tailored to their existing expertise. The post-holder would provide leadership and vision to develop the current nurse-led services, with the aim of future expansion in nurse-led clinics for specific groups of patients within Allergy and Severe Asthma & ILD allowing CNS-led care autonomously within the relevant multidisciplinary team(s). In addition, they will be expected to provide leadership and day-to-day management in the following areas: 1) the Asthma & Allergy Day Case Unit, a high throughput location where the nurse-led biologics injections and hot clinics take place, as well as challenge testing, which is consultant-led 2) Clinic 1- where the nurse-led immunotherapy injection service takes place. They would work in partnership with the multi professional team to build evidence- based pathways. Within this their role will include extending scope of nursing practice and developing an expert level of professional autonomy and accountability in the provision of such care. They would also provide leadership in clinical governance and monitoring the quality of nurse-led care, provide leadership and mentorship for the nursing team, as well as leadership in quality improvement projects. They will participate in Allergy Clinical Governance Meetings and Respiratory Audit afternoons. This is a pivotal leadership role within our evolving Temporary Staffing service, focused on operational excellence, workforce sustainability and value for money. We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse to work within the Forensic Directorate. The post holder will be joining for our new physical health team as a Physical health Nurse Band 7. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with staff and service users to improve the physical health outcomes for our service users within the forensic service. We are looking for someone who is keen to improve physical health in mental health nursing skills, who will be working alongside a group of physical health professionals including dietitian, sports therapist, physical health nurses, physical health engagement practitioner and inpatient multidisciplinary teams. They will be responsible for embedding the physical health care systems inpatient wards, facilitating physical health clinics, working close with primary care services and supporting education and training needs for inpatient staff. The post holder will need to be able to work closely with the inpatient services and manage a caseload of service users & support primary nurses with physical health care planning. The post holder will join a multidisciplinary NHS mental health service dedicated to providing secure services. There are opportunities to participate in physical health audits and the educational program within the directorate. You will also be required to attend regular clinical supervision with a senior clinician. The Physical Health nurse will carry out regular reviews on the in patients, supervised by a consultant psychiatrist, and liaise with the multidisciplinary team in the forensic services to deliver effective healthcare for patients. To also attend and contribute to weekly ward rounds, team formulation meetings and physical leads meetings. The post holder will undertake a key role in the organisation and delivery of physical health care in forensic services an area which is increasingly recognised as essential in delivery of safe and effective mental health services. The post will involve liaising with the GP, Opticians, Dentists and all other local clinics for the service and delivery of effective healthcare for the management of acute and chronic physical conditions. The Post holder will compliment roles already developed within the service and strengthen the multi professional team. The post holder will also work with occupational therapists, Tissue viability nurses, dietetics and nursing colleagues and liaise as needed with local Acute Hospitals.
