Food Technology Teacher – Walsall Key Details - Position: Design Technology Teacher - Specialism: Food & Nutrition - Location: Walsall - Start Date: October 2026 - Contract: Full-time, long-term - Key Stages: KS3 & KS4 The Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Walsall from October 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will teach Food Technology and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, food safety and healthy eating. You will be responsible for planning and delivering effective lessons, assessing student progress and maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement. You will also encourage students to develop their practical skills, creativity and understanding of food and nutrition. The Candidate The ideal candidate will: - Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology, Food & Nutrition - Have experience teaching Design Technology or Food Technology at secondary level - Be confident delivering both theoretical and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4 - Promote safe working practices and good food hygiene in practical lessons - Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management skills - Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with different abilities - Be organised, reliable and committed to supporting student progress - Build positive professional relationships with students and colleagues The School You will be joining a secondary school in Walsall, supporting students across KS3 and KS4 as they develop their knowledge and practical skills in Food Technology and Nutrition. This full-time, long-term opportunity offers the chance to make a positive contribution to students’ learning and encourage their confidence, creativity and understanding of food and nutrition.
