The successful physiotherapist will join our multi-professional therapy teams, rotating every 6 months across: Respiratory Medicine, Intensive Care and Cardiothoracics on the Royal Brompton Site and Paediatrics (including PICU) at the Evelina Children's Hospital site at St Thomas Hospital. They will treat a variety of cardio-respiratory patients in critical care, ward, outpatient and virtual settings. We have recently replaced both our CT scanners and currently have one 64 slice GE CT scanner and one 256 Slice GE CT Scanner. We also have 2 new GE MRI Scanners, a 1.5T and 3T. We cover all types of scanning in CT this includes cardiac, pneumocolons, orthopaedic and all various CT guided interventional procedures including microwave ablations. In MRI we provide an equally broad range of scanning including MRI guided breast biopsies as well as supporting the MSK and Neuro imaging for other sites within the trust. The department also includes 2 flat plate interventional rooms, 2 PET/CT scanners, 2 Gamma Camera’s including SPECT CT, 4 ultrasound rooms, a Lithotripsy unit and 5 DR GE General X-ray rooms. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Team at Hillingdon Hospital for a part time band 6. We are seeking a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, integrated inpatient therapy department. The therapy department is the third largest staff group within the Trust and is widely respected. As a Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential part in the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients. You will work closely with the patient, their support network, and Multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve a positive outcome. You will primarily be based on the Trust’s Acute Medical Unit but may cover Older Adult and Neurology wards as the service demands. This is a part time position for 18 hours and 45 minutes per week. Main Tasks and Responsibilities To complete the OT process on the Acute Medical Unit, with a complex and varied caseload. You maybe asked to work else where within the Trust and be part of the 7 day service that is in development. Clinical · To autonomously complete the OT process with patients including: o Comprehensive physical and cognitive assessment of needs o Provide individualised and specialised treatments to patients on your caseload, which will include a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological conditions. o Lead and facilitate on patient discharges with arranging package of care, providing equipment and community support. The OT process includes liaising with relatives, care givers and NOKs, providing updates regarding patients progress and discharge plans. To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions. To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment to ensure effectiveness of intervention. The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Physiotherapist to join our supportive and friendly cross site HHFT team. We are looking for motivated, driven individuals to join our team of Band 6 physiotherapists, to contribute to our ever- improving service. We are able to combine our current Band 6 rotational posts at Winchester and Basingstoke so you can rotate across both sites. Within the acute teams at RHCH and BNHH we cover over 800 beds and provide Band 6 rotations in the following specialities: 1. Intensive Care, General Surgery 2. Women's Health and Cardiology 3. General Medicine (Respiratory/ Gastro/ Endocrine) 4. Front Door (Acute Assessment Unit/ Emergency Department) 5. Elderly Care 6. Stroke 7. Orthopaedic If a developmental Band 5 to Band 6 post would be more suitable, this can be discussion prior to, or at interview. As a Bank Physiotherapist at HHFT you can expect to receive regular and robust supervision, to lead on service improvement projects, to supervise more junior staff and to provide clinical support and guidance to students from our partner Universities. Other responsibilities include participation in teaching for therapy staff and the wider MDT, with opportunities to facilitate simulation training; opportunities to work closely with specialist MDT’s and develop overall management and leadership skills.
