Clinical Care The duties outlined below cover the main duties of the post and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The post-holder will be on call for acute gastrointestinal bleeding rota currently covering both THH and Harefield Hospital on a 1 week in 7-8 basis, dependent upon recruitment. The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinical Lead will be the immediate line manager. The post holders will be able to participate in the on-call GI bleed/ Gastroenterology rota on an approximately 1:8 basis, with full recruitment. The primary focus of this post is to support the Hepatology service. The post-holder will work closely with their colleagues, be responsible for providing a high-quality Hepatology and Gastroenterology service to the residents of Hillingdon, and for development of services appropriate to these ends. This includes vetting of Hepatology referrals and review of these patients in clinics (face to face, telephone and paper/ virtually). The post-holder will participate in the ‘bleeding rota’; providing emergency out-of-hours Gastroenterology cover to both Harefield Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital. Currently this is non-resident, with future job planning this may involve a regular on-site commitment. We are negotiating to withdraw from the Harefield commitment, to focus clinical time at the Hillingdon site. The post-holder will, within a Team, be jointly responsible for running an inpatient and outpatient service for Hepatology and general gastroenterology including an advisory service for colleagues. Attend the relevant MDT meetings including: Gastro Radiology, Upper GI cancer MDT, West London Histopathology and other pan-NWL/NCL meetings as appropriate. He/she will also be involved in the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programme and General Practitioner education. The post-holder will be expected to continue his/her own professional development (CPD) and revalidation in line with guidance from the relevant professional bodies and within the framework of clinical governance. The AMHT is based at Homerton Row Site and provides assessment and treatment to City & Hackney Adolescents presenting with psychosis and severe mental illness, and those requiring more intensive support for serious mental health difficulties associated with risk to self. The role of the consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment where appropriate, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies and facilitate the development of the team and wider service. The team, is clinically led by the CTL and the consultant psychiatrist together with an 8b clinician. It is a small cohesive team comprising of clinical psychology, family therapy, nursing, CAMHS Practitioner and an OT who has a joint role leading on internal duty system, as well as a Specialist Registrar from the GOSH/RLH rotation and an F2 doctor from HUH. The Team caseload is around 45 – 50 cases including approximately 10 Early Intervention for Psychosis young people. Liaison with Tier 4 inpatient services, CAMHS extended crisis service (CECS) and the developing Home Treatment Team (HTT) is a key expectation of the role, as are relationships with the Homerton Hospital, and Children’s Social Care. The AMHT plays a key role in the service with consultation to other pathways and timely intervention for high risk young people requiring more intensive care. Applications are invited for this locum, one-year fixed term, full-time (10PA) Consultant in Respiratory Medicine post. This post is based in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, in the Integrated Medical Specialties and Therapies Division at the North Middlesex Hospital, part of the Royal Free London Group. The Respiratory Consultant team at North Middlesex Hospital offers a comprehensive general respiratory practice as well as sub-specialist clinics in Asthma, Interstitial Lung Disease, Lung Cancer, Tuberculosis & Complex Lung Infection, and Sleep. There are twice weekly bronchoscopy lists, including Endobronchial Ultrasound, and regular pleural procedures. We work closely with Community Respiratory Services in Enfield and Haringey who provide specialist support, including pulmonary rehabilitation, long term oxygen therapy and chest physiotherapy. This post is principally designed to support delivery of acute inpatient care alongside outpatient clinic activity in general respiratory, interstitial lung disease and sleep. Applicants should have broad training in all aspects of Respiratory and General Medicine, Weekend working involves covering the acute medical unit & post-take ward rounds. · The appointee will join a dynamic and friendly team of Consultants, resident medical staff, respiratory specialist nurses and respiratory physiologists, based at North Middlesex University Hospital · The Respiratory team provides acute inpatient care across 2 wards and works closely with the A&E and AMU teams to provide timely, high quality clinical care · The appointee will work alongside the current consultants to provide specialist care to inpatients and outpatients.
