Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney, The City and beyond.

We are extremely proud of the fact that Homerton Hospital has recently attained the highest possible rating of "Outstanding" from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our integrated Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community health services for its local population and a range of specialist services for a wider group of patients. In addition, the Trust manages services out of St Leonard's Hospital and the Mary Seacole Nursing Home.

Homerton aims to ensure equality and value diversity, and we are committed to inclusion for all of our staff.  This is reflected in our policies, procedures and People Plan.  All of our staff are expected to embody our Trust values at all times.

We are also committed, through our Fair Recruitment Standards, to ensuring all applicants are treated fairly.

Homerton has a proud tradition of supporting and developing its staff, including its well-regarded and valued nursing community, and all staff are able to take advantage of a great range of benefits.

Dermatology is an early user of Homerton’s newly developed flexible outpatient space, which includes nine consulting rooms and three treatment rooms. The facilities support “one-stop” Dermatology pathways, enabling patients to be assessed and, where appropriate, treated on the same day, including biopsy without the need for a separate visit.

• Provide a comprehensive Adult and Paediatric Dermatology service, working collaboratively with consultant and multidisciplinary colleagues.

• Undertake Adult and Paediatric outpatient clinics, including general/medical dermatology and appropriate specialist activity in accordance with the agreed job plan.

• Contribute to skin cancer services, including 2WW clinics and Skin Cancer MDT activity as required.

• Deliver teledermatology, virtual clinics and Advice & Guidance, supporting effective pathways between primary and secondary care.

• Contribute to dermatological procedures, including biopsy and minor operations, and support the development of efficient one-stop Dermatology pathways.

• Provide timely assessment and management of acute dermatology presentations and inpatient/ward referrals during normal working hours.

• Maintain responsibility for patient care and associated clinical administration, including results management and communication with GPs and other agencies.

• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to junior doctors and Dermatology nursing staff.

• Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development.

• Work closely with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and wider multidisciplinary team to support the continued development and delivery of high-quality Dermatology services.
