This is a two-year, fixed-term post covering a secondment - a genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact for a charity with ambitious plans for the future. Working closely with income generation colleagues, the post holder will bring together fundraising, media, marketing, digital, creative and campaigns activity to maximise income, supporter acquisition and retention. The post holder will be confident leading projects and working collaboratively across teams to deliver impactful campaigns through social media, email and paid media. The post holder will bring creativity, innovation and new ideas to the Income Generation Department to help secure and grow all forms of voluntary income, and raise the profile of Birmingham Hospice. Main duties and responsibilities Campaigns and Communications In partnership with income generation colleagues, develop and lead the delivery of multi-channel promotional strategies to support campaigns, events and appeals such as Light up a Life, Treecycling, the Chocolate 5K, community fundraising, individual giving and legacy promotion. Oversee the production and delivery of direct mail, such as appeals and raffles, produced by the Fundraising Marketing Officer in collaboration with fundraising colleagues. Ensure the Fundraising Marketing Team sources and produces inspiring case studies to support fundraising activity and delivers a gold-standard supporter experience journey. PR and Marketing Work with fundraising colleagues to develop and deliver innovative and engaging marketing plans that include the production of printed materials, video content and digital assets. Act as a brand guardian, ensuring the Birmingham Hospice brand is consistent and follows guidelines across all fundraising printed and digital collateral, merchandise and signage. In partnership with the Communications and Marketing Manager (PR), build and maintain strong media and PR relationships with local and regional contacts to raise the profile of the hospice's fundraising activities. Work with fundraising managers to develop supplier briefings and act as a first point of contact for external graphic designers, print and merchandise suppliers, marketing agencies and the charity's web developers. Ensure that all marketing materials are produced on time and within budget. Digital and Social Media Alongside fundraising managers, set the strategy and direction of all fundraising content across social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, ensuring content upholds brand and quality standards. Oversee the social media content calendar, supported by the Communications and Marketing Assistant and the Fundraising Marketing Officer. Lead the development of fundraising content and donation functionality on the Birmingham Hospice website. Day-to-day liaison with the CMS provider is led by the Fundraising Marketing Officer and Communications and Marketing Assistant, with functionality scope and site standards agreed by the Communications and Marketing Manager (fundraising) and Head of Communications and Marketing. Monitor and review traffic to the income generation pages of the charity's website, and take steps to increase visitor numbers and conversion rates. Oversee paid advertising strategy, including Meta ads, TikTok ads and Google ads. Identify and explore digital opportunities, such as PPC advertising, to support income generation. Support fundraising managers with the implementation of the charity's new CRM. Strategy and Development Work with the Head of Communications and Marketing to develop and deliver an annual marketing plan to support the charity's fundraising strategy. Build strong working relationships with all income generation and marketing colleagues, and across the wider charity. Evaluate and monitor all aspects of income generation communications, online and offline, using analytical tools. Produce high-level marketing metrics to support the Head of Communications and Marketing, and fundraising managers, in the evaluation and reporting of key events, appeals and campaigns. Research and develop new marketing trends and opportunities to help maximise income generation. Keep up to date with best practice in the charity sector generally, but particularly regarding fundraising communications innovation, legislation and codes of practice. Ensure all income generation communications and marketing materials meet legal compliance and regulatory requirements, e.g. Charity Commission guidance, Gift Aid, GDPR and hospice policies. Have a good understanding of income generation and communications. Be an active participant in all Income Generation Department meetings and working groups. Leadership and Management Lead the Fundraising Marketing Team to deliver on agreed objectives and targets identified in the Communications and Marketing, and income generation strategies. Line manage the Fundraising Marketing Officer and Communications and Marketing Assistant, by agreeing clear objectives, holding monthly 1-1s and annual reviews, and providing effective and supportive line management. Develop the team through mentoring, coaching and training. Develop internal relationships with the charity's corporate, clinical, medical and retail teams, and identify opportunities to increase income within the organisation through collaborative working. Ensure the Fundraising Marketing Team works within the Fundraising Code of Practice and maintains a high standard of supporter care. Expectations This is primarily a 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday role, with occasional flexibility required to work evenings and weekends to support events and activities. Ability to travel to external meetings. Ability to work across both hospice sites (Selly Park and Erdington). Assist at fundraising events and activities where appropriate and necessary. Undertake any other duties as may be required by the Head of Communications and Marketing, and the Income Generation Director. You will lead the development of 1-year, 5-year, 10-year and 30-year investment plans, ensuring programmes align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, asset performance and value-for-money principles. Undertaking asset option appraisals, whole-life costing assessments and Net Present Value (NPV) modelling to support investment decisions. Providing professional advice on asset disposal, regeneration, redevelopment and stock rationalisation opportunities. Managing and developing asset intelligence systems, ensuring data accuracy and supporting informed investment decisions. Producing strategic reports, forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership teams and board-level stakeholders. Supporting compliance with housing and building safety legislation, including Decent Homes Standards, building safety requirements and wider regulatory frameworks. Leading business cases, feasibility studies and procurement activities for capital investment and asset-related projects. Providing oversight of complex disrepair matters, working with legal advisers, surveyors and operational teams to minimise risk and improve resident outcomes. Acting as a trusted technical adviser to senior leaders, contributing to organisational strategy and long-term business planning. This is a highly visible strategic role offering the opportunity to influence investment decisions, asset performance and future portfolio sustainability at senior leadership level. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will bring significant experience in strategic asset management, capital investment planning or property portfolio management from within the social housing sector. You will also possess: HND (Level 5) qualification or equivalent in Building Surveying, Asset Management, Construction, Property Management or a related discipline. Strong experience developing and delivering long-term asset investment programmes based on stock condition, compliance and performance data. Proven expertise in asset management systems, data analytics, lifecycle forecasting and investment modelling. Experience undertaking NPV modelling, option appraisals, business case development and value-for-money assessments. Excellent understanding of social housing asset management, compliance obligations, building safety requirements and property legislation. Registered Manager - Children’s Residential Home Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum Additional earnings: Performance-related bonuses Contract: Full-time, Permanent Home: Brand-new 3-bed EBD children’s home About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand-new three-bed children’s residential home in Sutton Coldfield. You will take responsibility for the home from registration and set-up through to opening and its first Ofsted inspection. This is an opportunity to join an established children’s residential care provider that already operates two homes, both rated Good by Ofsted. Key Responsibilities As Registered Manager, you will: • Lead the registration and set-up of the new children’s home • Manage the home in line with its Statement of Purpose • Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 • Work in line with safeguarding legislation and guidance • Prepare the home for Ofsted inspection • Recruit, lead, supervise and develop the residential care team • Maintain safe and effective staffing levels • Ensure children receive safe, high-quality and child-centred care • Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk assessments and audits • Work closely with education professionals, Local Authorities and external agencies • Monitor staff performance and development • Manage budgets and operational requirements • Drive continuous improvement across the service • Work towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating About You We are looking for someone with strong experience in children’s residential care who is confident leading a home and developing a team. You should have: • Experience working within a children’s residential care setting • Previous supervisory or management experience • Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 • Good understanding of safeguarding and safer care practice • Experience leading and developing staff • Strong communication and organisational skills • Confidence managing performance, conflict and challenging situations • Experience working with care plans and risk assessments • The resilience and leadership skills required to manage a busy children’s home • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check Qualifications Ideally you will hold: • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare Candidates working towards the qualification may also be considered. A Designated Safeguarding Lead Level 3 qualification is also required. Salary & Bonus Package Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience Additional bonuses include: • £1,500 bonus for achieving a Good Ofsted rating • £2,500 bonus for achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating • £1,250 placement bonus for Child A • £1,250 placement bonus for Child B • £1,250 placement bonus for Child C Ofsted and placement bonuses are subject to the qualifying criteria and length of service requirements.
