You will work closely with colleagues across production, technical and management teams and gain valuable experience across a broad range of food safety and quality activities. * Conducting process and CCP audits across the site. * Supporting the QA team with glass and plastic, GMP, hygiene and fabrication audits in line with agreed schedules. * Taking part in annual metal detector validations and routine verification activities. * Supporting CCP validations across both sites. * Completing weekly site equipment calibrations. * Completing and recording allergen verification and validation activities alongside the wider site team. * Supporting export and customer traceability exercises. * Completing monthly and ad hoc traceability exercises. * Leading complaint investigations, root cause analysis and non-conformance investigations. * Completing daily filing and auditing of factory and QA paperwork. * Carrying out daily GMP walks with site Shift Managers and Supervisors. * Developing sufficient knowledge to provide QA support across both sites. * Supporting the QA team with holiday and absence cover when required. * Assisting with customer visits and audits, including presenting traceability information, QA paperwork and supporting documentation. * Maintaining relevant QA and factory documentation, including controlled document checks and regular recorded paperwork audits. * Escalating quality, safety or compliance concerns promptly when they cannot be resolved within the department. The team's priorities focus on compliance, assurance, resident welfare, operational risk management, and continuous improvement of detention services. The Detention Operations Compliance Team at Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre is responsible for providing Home Office oversight and assurance that the centre is operating safely, securely, humanely and in accordance with legislation, policy, operating standards and contractual requirements. The team works closely with the centre’s service provider, healthcare partners, Home Office colleagues and other stakeholders to monitor performance, drive continuous improvement and ensure that the welfare of detained individuals remains at the heart of service delivery. As a Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Compliance Team, balancing reactive operational decision-making with planned assurance activity in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will lead a team of Deputy Compliance Managers, providing support, direction and oversight while ensuring effective monitoring of the contractor’s performance across a broad range of operational areas. Your new roleAs a Compliance Assistant, you will support the delivery of the University's fire safety compliance programme by carrying out routine testing, inspections and record-keeping activities across the estate. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting weekly fire alarm tests and maintaining accurate testing records. Carrying out weekly and annual emergency lighting tests and producing relevant certification. Testing disabled toilet alarms and disabled refuge alarm systems. Assisting with fire drills alongside security teams and building managers. Completing visual inspections of fire escape routes and safety signage. Recording faults in the university's work management system and coordinating repairs with contractors. Ensuring all compliance records, schedules and documentation are accurately maintained and updated. Working across multiple University buildings to support ongoing compliance activities. What you'll need to succeed Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. Strong administrative and record-keeping skills. Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Full UK driving licence. Ability to travel across a large estate and move around buildings without assistance. Desirable: Previous experience in a compliance, maintenance or facilities role. Experience working with fire alarms, emergency lighting or building safety systems. Background in maintenance, electrical works or fire safety. Relevant qualifications within electrical, fire safety or building services disciplines.
