Knowledge of MS is preferred but not necessary as ongoing training will be provided. Although the post is for 20 hours, we would be willing to consider more or less hours depending on the PA's circumstances. A basic overview of duties required to perform are assisting with day to day activities, and maximising gentleman’s ability to maintain his independence. Candidates ability to demonstrate a proactive and caring attitude towards the role is essential. Despite the gentleman's health condition, he has a great sense of humour, is intelligent and very engaging. He would like someone with a good sense of humour, strong work ethic and a positive outlook on life. Someone who also understands that his health fluctuates, therefore an ability to adapt to situations is important. Ideal candidate must display a willingness to undertake ongoing training in all aspects of personal care, moving and handling skills and general safeguarding awareness. A reasonable level of flexibility with working hours would be preferable, as occasionally shift cover will be required. Car driver with own transport preferred, however not necessary if living locally. A full induction will be provided. Competitive rates of pay dependent on experience. The role is to take the boys out separately in the community so that they can access leisure activities. Main Duties We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support for these little boys on separate days. They both have a diagnosis of autism, and the youngest sibling is also non-verbal and uses PECS to communicate and requires support with personal care. They can both struggle to regulate their emotions and have no danger awareness and will need constant support and supervision to keep them safe. The youngest little boy enjoys being around people and going to the park, climbing, running around and being active, swimming and soft play. As this role is to ensure his safety you must be in good general health as there will be some physical aspects to this role such as running to keep up, lifting and carrying when needed and supporting in the swimming pool. He has no awareness of danger and needs constant supervision and uses reigns when walking outside. The older little boy enjoys football, swimming and outdoor play. We would prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport, however this isn’t essential. Expenses will be met by your employer.
