Role OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and structured Personal Assistant to provide dedicated 1-to-1 care for a young adult with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and epilepsy. This role involves managing the daily routine from morning to evening, administering routine and emergency medication, preparing meals, and providing safe transport to and from a daily work placement.Key Responsibilities

  • Routine & Schedule Management: Promptly follow and enforce the individual’s daily structured timetable, maintaining consistency, transitions, and daily structure.
  • Medication Administration: Administer daily routine oral medication on schedule and maintain accurate logs. Monitor for seizure activity, respond calmly in an emergency, and administer rescue medication following the Epilepsy Support Plan.
  • Transport: Drive the individual safely to and from their work placement and any scheduled community activities (8:00 AM start and afternoon pickup).
  • Work Placement Support: Provide continuous 1-to-1 supervision and support at the workplace, helping them stay on task, build confidence, and navigate their duties safely.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and evening meals, adhering to any dietary preferences or safety needs.
Required Qualifications & Person Specification

| Category | Requirements | Experience | Proven experience working 1-to-1 with SEN young adults or health/social care settings.

| Epilepsy & Meds | Trained in Epilepsy Awareness and Administration of Rescue Medication (e.g., Buccal Midazolam) or fully willing to undertake training prior to start.

| Driving | Clean, valid Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle suitable for transport.

| Key Traits | Highly punctual, calm under pressure, organized, patient, and proactive in maintaining boundaries and routines.

| Checks | Enhanced DBS check required (funded by employer).
