I am a non-smoker, and have two rescue cats called Marshmallow and Tinkerbell. I enjoy gardening, I have an allotment, I love films,socialising and read a lot. I mainly get about using a stick, but sometimes need to use a wheelchair. I need support with domestic tasks, food shopping, laundry, food prep, driving to appointments, gardening and physio exercises. Sometimes you will be required to help with taking my pottery to a studio in Barton Hill and once a week I borrow a little dog called Luna for an hour to go to a local park. Having some gardening or allotment experience would be preferable but not essential. No personal care required but sometimes I need support / encouragement to carry out tasks so that I can live as independent a life as possible. You might be required to make some phone calls on my behalf as I struggle to use the phone. The ideal candidate would be reliable,energetic, a good communicator, friendly, adaptable and intuitive with good memory recall. They should also be able to carry out tasks with attention to detail, take direction well but also be able to make independent decisions when needed. Multitasking and time management is part of the job along with having a positive attitude and ability to adapt to new tasks if they arise. Access to a car that is air zone compliant is essential and a non-smoker is essential. A DBS check will be required but if you don’t have one this can be arranged via WECIL. Short listed applicants may be required to do a short trial shift (£12 per hour) and if successful will do a 6 week probationary period, with pay at £13.20 per hour. On completion of successful probation, a formal contract will be agreed, with 5.6 weeks paid holiday, a pension, sick pay and 50p per milage allowance. Support with accessing the community, enable social interaction and sometimes attending appointments. Currently mum supports with this, so the employer would like someone with similar interests to also get into the community. Main Duties: Personal duties: To support the employer with taking to the bathroom whilst out. Domestic duties: Minimal other than helping to keep living area clean and tidy. Social Duties: To support with going out, socialising, shopping, attending events such as Pokémon Days, ComiCon’s etc and going to medical appointments. Hours of work: 8 hours per week Qualifications: Training in First Aid, Manual Handling of People Skills & Experience: A background in Social and Healthcare with Adults preferable but not essential. Must have a full UK driving licence, own car with business insurance that can carry a foldable manual wheelchair, so that the employer can be taken out.     We are a small team based in the picturesque countryside just outside of Penistone. We have a maximum of 35 children per day across two rooms with plans to extend. We are seeking enthusiastic practitioners, to join our ever-expanding setting here at Willow Tree Day Care. The successful applicant must have some knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stages and have a passion for working with children 0-5 years. Duties include: • Providing high quality care, planning stimulating activities based on children's individual needs. • Tracking and monitoring their progress through observation. • You will ensure the children feel safe and secure and provide opportunities for them to learn both indoors and outdoors. • The successful candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills. • Supervising mealtimes and preparing snacks • Lots of storytelling and playing! • Preparing activities and resources • Liaising with parents/carers • Working as part of a team to develop areas in the playrooms • Helping staff in care routines • Some knowledge of safeguarding. • This position is subject an enhanced DBS check. Desirable: Maths and English grade 4/C or above Or willingness to work towards functional skills in these areas Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work.
