We wish to recruit an 8a Clinical Psychologist for our Liverpool Step Forward service. We provide a stepped model of Psychological care to those who might previously have ‘fallen through the gap’ between primary and secondary mental health services, with our intention being to reduce the possibility of longer term deterioration in people’s mental health by offering more timely earlier interventions. The service comprises Clinical Psychologists, Psychological Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists. The successful candidate will join a passionate and welcoming team and provide trauma-informed interventions to clients and carers aged 18 upwards with a range of difficulties. There is also the opportunity to become involved in Step Forward’s widening access agenda, which aims to address issues of racial inequality within the service and improve health outcomes for people from under-represented communities. To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s psychological problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy. To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses. To evaluate, monitor progress and make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide both general and specialist advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management. To act as care coordinator, where appropriate, ensuring the provision of a care package appropriate for the clients needs, coordinating the work of others involved with care, taking responsibility for arranging CPA reviews as required and communicating effectively with the client, his/her family and all others involved in the network of care, and to monitor progress during the course of multi-disciplinary interventions. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, highly complex information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care where there may be conflicting views, high emotion and significant barriers to understanding and change, and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care. To provide expertise, advice and support to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the treatment team. The candidate would be expected to provide staff support in the form of 1:1 supervision, peer support and reflective practice group on a regular basis. We are looking for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant who has an interest in caring for people with cancer and is able to support the outpatients clinics. You must be able to demonstrate empathy, compassion and care towards both patients and their families. The candidate will need to show good communication skills and must have a positive attitude. The post holder will be required to assist our Haematology and Oncology outpatients clinics and will work alongside the consultants, nurse specialists and and advance nurse practitioners to ensure the patient needs are met. They will also be required to assist with clinical tasks and procedures such as phlebotomy and bone marrow biopsies. The post holder will provide administration support to the Urgent Treatment Centre incorporating the single point of access and referral service, along with the final hour of the shift supporting the GP Out of Hours service within CCICP. The customer care assistant will be expected to act as first point of telephone contact for all healthcare professionals and accept GP practice referrals. They will be responsible for organising their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by both the nursing team and Support Manager. The post holder will be capable of full clerical function within the team and be able to step-in to fill gaps, to ensure continuity of services.
