Darland House is a large nursing home situated in Gillingham, with a capacity of 40. We manage highly complex individuals with dementia presentations. We are a nursing led unit with regular input from a local GP practice. Our residents display complex behaviours and our aim is to ensure their quality of life is maintained in a safe and supportive environment. We are a large team - made up of approximately 80 clinical staff including senior nurses, staff nurses and support workers. We also hold our own catering and housekeeping team which will be overseen by this post holder alongside the support of the general manager. We are looking for a senior practitioner with extensive experience in the field of dementia care and/or mental health. Being a registered general adult nurse with previous experience in mental health is an advantage but we would welcome applications from those with evidence of experience and a willingness to consider post-graduate training in this specialism. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the day to day management of the staff and residents within the nursing home. Ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe, person centred care which is implemented and reviewed as appropriate for the individual. The role requires a strong clinical background, with expert clinical decision making skills and a variety of clinical competencies. HMP Hindley is Category C male prison located in Wigan. The Preparation PIPE at HMP Hindley is a specialist 10-bed residential unit within a training prison, forming part of the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway. The service provides a psychologically informed, supportive environment for individuals with complex personality-related needs who are not yet ready to engage in structured treatment interventions. The PIPE focuses on building engagement, emotional stability and interpersonal skills through consistent relational practice, structured activities and dedicated keywork. Staff are trained to work in a psychologically informed way, using everyday interactions to support behaviour change, improve relationships and reduce risk. The service aims to prepare residents to progress to more intensive OPD interventions, enhance their ability to manage risk and relationships, and support safe and effective progression through their sentence. We are recruiting a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the team at HMP Hindley. The candidate will ensure the delivery of a high-quality Occupational Therapy service within the PIPE. This is a unique and autonomous role, with the post holder as the sole Occupational Therapist on the PIPE, working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of operational staff and forensic psychology colleagues. They will deliver specialist occupational therapy assessment, formulation and intervention, including individual and group work, supporting those with complex clinical and risk presentations. The role focuses on promoting occupational engagement, psychological wellbeing and pro-social functioning through therapeutic, recreational and supportive activities. The post holder will also contribute across the PIPE and wider prison, enhancing psychologically informed workforce capacity and supporting a relational approach to care and risk management. We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced and highly motivated critical care nurse who will work with the team to support us in the delivery of a high-quality 24-hour service across both Chelsea and Sutton sites. You will work collaboratively to provide acute oncology care to at risk or deteriorating cancer patients. You will be expected to work with ward and critical care clinicians and demonstrate excellent clinical skills and evidenced based decision making. You will carry out advanced assessment and care of deteriorating patients leading to early intervention and treatment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously is essential. You will be part of the Resuscitation team/Hospital@Night and would be required as an ALS provider to lead rescue interventions and facilitate transfers to and from critical care. For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification • To work in collaboration with the CCU, Medical/Surgical teams and the CSP to assess and treat the acutely deteriorating patient. • To perform individual clinical assessment of patients condition utilising advanced clinical assessment skills. • To utilise advanced nursing skills such as arterial puncture, venepuncture and cannulation to further assess and treat the acutely deteriorating patient. • To prescribe specific medications when required either as a patient group directive or as a non-medical prescriber. • To be skilled in the accurate making up of and administration of complex intravenous medications. • To lead/advise on proactive interventions for the acutely deteriorating cancer patient. • To initiate and coordinate the care of Level 2 patients being cared for in the inpatient or outpatient environment, or those stepped down from CCU.
