Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist Service Line: Male Low Secure Mental Health Professionally Accountable to: Medical Director Managerially Responsible to: Hospital Manager We are seeking an experienced full-time (10 programmed activities) Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson and provide senior medical cover on Low Secure Service across Upper East and East Hampton LSU wards. The caseload will be Upper East (13 inpatients) and half of East Hampton (7 inpatients) Upper East and East Hampton are our low secure services for men with mental illness, and both support men experiencing complex mental illness and/or personality disorder. The services accept direct admissions from the community, from rehabilitation or acute services and from prison, however many people step down through the internal care pathway from the medium secure services offered at Cygnet Bury Hudson. Across all of our medium and low secure services, service users are supported by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team who work with people to assess their needs and create a discharge pathway to the community. The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines.
