(1 week out of 4 live in) Additional hours may be available when needed Hourly pay rate: £12.71 - I am a young, friendly woman looking for a female live-in personal assistant to work 1 week out of every 4 weeks - urgently required. I have cerebral palsy and epilepsy and am physically unable to carry out most tasks but am passionate about my rights to live my life the way I choose and want full control over my independence. Sometimes I use an app called Go Talk when I struggle to talk. Assistance is required with all aspects of my daily life, including personal care, administration, some domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning, and accompanying me to medical appointments and social activities. I also attend church on Sundays, so you would be required to accompany me, but you will not be expected to participate in the service - just to be on hand when assistance is required. I enjoy swimming also, so someone who would do that with me would be great! I need someone with good IT skills, who can use programs such as Word and Excel to help me with my household and employer paperwork. I have a busy social life and am looking for a friendly, patient, outgoing carer who can support me to maintain my independence, who can learn to recognise when I need help and be responsive to my needs. I have two PAs who work three week out of four. I would like another PA to work the remaining one week out of four. Christmas Day, New Years Day and Bank Holidays will be required if during the week. I am also looking for someone who has a full UK driving license as you will need to drive my WAV (manual) and be over the age of 21 for insurance purposes. Each day you will have a 2 hour unpaid break which is given in the morning (excluding handover days). - Duties include: - Medication prompting/administering - Personal grooming - Eating and drinking assistance - Moving and handling - Clinical tasks - Other relevant duties as required - Administration - Housekeeping - Shopping - Cooking - Transportation - Companionship - Gardening - Dressing / undressing - Bathroom assistance - You will need to support me with chest physiotherapy exercises and other physiotherapy daily; training will be provided. - Support using the Aerobika Breathing Aid- training will be provided-I am sometimes unable to clear my lungs of phlegm which I find alarming, and this can change my tone of voice at these times. To me it comes across as if I am speaking normally so no offence intended. - Catheter care - I have a suprapubic catheter. Training will be provided on this. - Transportation to and from college plus assistance while there, twice weekly. - Other relevant duties as required, including emptying litter tray and feeding the cats. To deal with clinical queries from new and long-term CPAP and NIV users over the telephone and by email. 4. To provide Home sleep studies and oximetry on an outpatient basis. 5. To Ensure simple fault remedy, cleaning, and maintenance of recording equipment within the service. 6. To Download home sleep monitoring equipment and ensure cleaned and ready for next patient. This involves working with vulnerable clients and multi-agency partners to address housing need and with private landlords and letting agents to secure private rented accommodation at an affordable rent. In this role, you will ensure that an effective homelessness and housing advice service is delivered on behalf of the Council. This is through early intervention and advice to meet the requirements of the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and prevent homelessness wherever possible. This involves working with vulnerable clients and multi-agency partners to address housing need and with private landlords and letting agents to secure private rented accommodation at an affordable rent. Key Responsibilities: Preventing homelessness through advice, Referrals and case management, Taking lead for a specific area e.g. domestic violence, young people etc., representing the service at multi- agency meetings Keeping accurate customer records to inform monitoring and reporting, Carrying out homeless investigations and making homeless decisions within legislative frameworks To take responsibility for service delivery under the general direction of a qualified professional, applying knowledge and skills to developing a range of activities and events demonstrating understanding of the service area, relevant procedures and guidelines. For a HPO this includes case management and working with other colleagues, stakeholders and other agencies to prevent homelessness wherever possible and/or finding solutions for homeless households Give information and advice to the community about housing services available through the council and how to access them. Establish & maintain appropriate links between the community and other professionals to encourage a clear understanding of each other’s priorities and ways of working Ensure information is given in a format that is suitable to meet an individual’s needs and make appropriate referrals to other agencies that may be able to support the household, e.g. CAB, tenancy support etc Manage and maintain customer records to inform performance monitoring and reporting and to ensure compliance with the HRA 2017, this includes the use of ICT for records management. This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
