We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician based at our Sewage Pumping Site in Newbury, RG14 2AD. As a successful candidate, you will be using your electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision, allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician. - Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors is always my top priority by always displaying the correct behaviours by complying with the Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s Health and Safety guidelines. - Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault-finding to identify issues, fix these or escalate; planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily, installing new plant and equipment as required in line with current Standards and Regulations. - Record work and asset information to improve business performance, along with identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required. - Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate, with up-to-date technical knowledge, along with coaching, training and developing staff under their supervision, including the apprenticeship programme. - Delivering excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction. As the senior professional services leader, the Head of Professional Services will provide strategic leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, collegiality and continuous improvement. The postholder will ensure that professional services are effectively organised and aligned to the School’s ambitions, empowering colleagues to contribute fully to its success and ensuring services remain responsive to the needs of the School and wider University. Through this leadership, the postholder will play a key role in translating strategic ambition into effective delivery, advancing the University’s strategic priorities and realising the ambitions of the School’s ASBS 2030 Strategy. You will also play a key role in financial planning, risk management, service improvement and building strong partnerships across the University and with external stakeholders. We are looking for a collaborative leader with significant senior management experience within a large, complex organisation. You will have a proven track record of leading professional services teams, delivering organisational change, driving continuous improvement and translating strategic priorities into operational outcomes. Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement and business planning skills are essential, along with the ability to influence at senior levels and lead through complexity and change.
