The Prime Minister’s Office enables the Prime Minster to deliver the Government’s overall priorities and to communicate the Government’s policies to Parliament, the public and international audiences. From the Policy Unit, Press Office, Switchboard and Custodians, to the Events & Visits team and the Private Office support; the diverse No10 team draws on varied expertise from across the Civil Service and beyond. We are looking for a highly motivated Facilities Manager to support No10’s Facilities Management Team in ensuring the effective day to day management of world class, customer focused, facilities management services to the Downing Street complex. The focus is on facilities management and service delivery. But this interesting and broad ranging role requires the balancing of the complex’s different functions: a heritage building; a dynamic office environment; residential accommodation and a place for visitors. Other duties include Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Business Continuity, Corporate Governance and Line Management responsibilities for housekeeping staff. You will need to demonstrate high levels of FM experience and customer service. Commitment and flexibility, demonstrate strong leadership skills and be a good team player. You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills, picking up new issues quickly and confidently analysing issues to find workable solutions. You will need to be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and promote partnership working with outsourced commercial service providers. To be highly visible, always available and the “go to” person for queries Ensure value for money when procuring activity and ordering consumables Responsibility for maintenance regime and assets belonging to the building Regular checks of the facilities and action where required Support onsite facilities inspections, floor walks and service audits Proactively monitor work orders React to day-to-day queries, triage colleague queries responding in a timely manner or referring them to the right team or self-service channels Deliver an experience that is professional, friendly and attentive at all times To anticipate the needs of colleagues Act as the out-of-hours emergency contact to ensure Business Continuity and be the first point of contact for dealing with accommodation issues and maintenance.

The Project Manager will act as a key link between DgP and programme stakeholders across the Defra Group, ensuring that property-related requirements are fully understood, integrated and delivered as part of the wider programme. You will play a crucial role in aligning strategic property delivery with programme objectives, ensuring a coherent and joined-up approach. The Defra Group is a large and complex organisation of around 30,000 staff, working across core Defra and its arm’s length bodies, with significant investment in infrastructure and transformation programmes. Delivering the Water Regulator requires strong, coordinated project leadership across multiple functions and stakeholders Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the delivery of property-related elements of the Water Regulator programme, ensuring alignment with wider programme objectives. Act as the key interface between Defra Group Property and the Water Regulator Programme, ensuring effective coordination, communication and integration. Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the project and wider Project Group, establishing appropriate governance, structures and controls. Develop and maintain robust project plans, ensuring delivery is clearly tracked and reported across both DgP and programme governance structures.
