The post will be based in the Radiology Department where you will help with patients during radiological examinations and support radiographers in the co-ordination of workflow through the department. There will be a requirement to commit to working both daytime and night shifts as well as participation in a 7-day 24-hour service. We operate the largest chemotherapy unit in the UK on our main site and treatments are also provided at 13 other networked sites, and in patients homes. And as a specialist tertiary surgical centre, we focus on rare cancers, complex procedures, and multidisciplinary approaches to cancer surgery, specialising in colorectal, peritoneal, gynaecological, urological and plastic surgery. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years. We have been named by the UK’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), as one of the best hospitals providing opportunities for patients to participate in clinical research studies, with more than 800 studies open at any time, caring for over 3,000 patients. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide a supportive role within the SACT Services for nursing, medical and clerical Staff whilst providing rotational cover between the Chemotherapy unit and Outreach services. 2. Undertake the nursing care needs of patients, ensuring privacy & dignity maintained. 3. Write reports of care given under the covering signature of a qualified nurse. 4. Participate in nursing procedures appropriate to the department. 5. Support and assist in the induction/training of junior Health Care Assistant’s. 6. Rotate to cover the phlebotomy room taking requested blood from CVC’s, porta Cath and peripherally. 7. Rotate to cover outpatient clinics, responsible for rooming patients, height and weight recording, observations when necessary and lease with medical staff. 8. Be able to act as a team co-ordinator on the treatment floor and ensure the safe and timely through put of patients. 9. Rotate to work on the treatment floor, assisting nursing staff during treatments and discharging patients. 10. Rotate to work on the chemotherapy outreach peripheral clinics, including the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit. To support the nursing staff in the care of patients whilst attending these clinics. 11. Safely escort patients to other areas and collect blood products / chemotherapy from key departments. 12. Assist in the provision of meals / refreshments for patients whilst meeting their nutritional needs. 13. Help to maintain a safe environment and report faults/risks etc to the nurse in charge. 14. Liaise with the Estates department re repairs and maintain maintenance records. 15. Liaise with nurse responsible for stores/stationery and ordering and assist in the maintenance of stock levels. 16. Handle patients personal possessions, ensure cash and valuables kept securely. 17. Aid the safe storage of medicines and the return of any unused chemotherapy to pharmacy. 18. Assist medical staff with procedures. EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT 1. The Health Care Assistant is responsible for their own personal development and maintaining a personal development plan. 2. Annually attend all mandatory study days including Principles and Practice of Intravenous Skills, Infection control, Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, moving and handling and fire safety. 3. Annually update level one IV skills, including phlebotomy, Central line/ Peripheral Inserted Central Catheter management and Cannula care. 4. To participate in and work towards the completion of the Christie Care Certificate. PERSONAL 1. Demonstrate a pleasant and approachable manner and help create and promote a good working relationship. 2. Communicate effectively and appropriately in the giving and receiving of verbal and written communications. 3. Show professional and courteous manner when answering the telephone and other enquires. 4. Maintain confidentiality with regard to patient information both at work and outside of working hours. 5. About the Role As Senior Leader: Partnerships and Quality Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Music Hub. Working closely with the Head of Music Service, you will help turn strategic ambitions into meaningful outcomes for children and young people, ensuring that our programmes remain ambitious, impactful and responsive to the needs of schools and communities. This is a highly collaborative role where relationships matter. You will lead on building and strengthening partnerships with schools, cultural organisations and key stakeholders across the region, fostering a shared commitment to high-quality music education. Alongside this, you will oversee quality assurance and performance management activities, helping partners and teams continuously improve and ensuring we meet the expectations of Arts Council England and other stakeholders. You will contribute to strategic planning and governance, monitor programme performance, support school engagement and drive forward innovative projects that enhance the reach and impact of the Music Hub. The role also includes line management responsibilities, with a focus on developing, supporting and empowering staff to thrive. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will occasionally deputise for the Head of Music Service and help lead the service through a period of growth and opportunity. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, with the potential for extension subject to future funding and service requirements. About You You will be an experienced and inspiring leader with a strong background in music education or a related sector, holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people through music. You will bring significant experience of developing partnerships across organisations and have the confidence to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from school leaders and educators to strategic partners and funding bodies. You will understand the importance of quality assurance, performance monitoring and continuous improvement, using data and insight to drive decision-making and deliver excellent outcomes. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and delivering operationally. You will have experience of leading teams, managing performance and supporting colleagues through change, while maintaining a collaborative and inclusive leadership style. You will be driven by a desire to make a difference and excited by the opportunity to help shape a major new chapter in music education across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Experience of working within a Music Hub, a grant-funded programme or a changing organisational environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the current education landscape and school systems. Supporting our clinical staff by preparing client files and scanning documents, allowing them to focus fully on patient care. Answering, screening and forwarding incoming customer queries via phone calls and proactively managing local mailbox and emails. Carrying out day-to-day administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly, including handling post, answering calls and emails, managing card transactions, processing invoices, and organising delivery notes. Working closely with clinical colleagues to ensure client reports and correspondence are completed and sent within required timeframes. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Proven experience delivering exceptional, client focused customer service.
