The post holder will work closely with specialist IBD nurses, colorectal surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, dietitians and pharmacists to deliver evidence-based care aligned with national standards and best practice. The role offers opportunities to participate in service development, quality improvement, teaching, research and innovation, helping to shape the future direction of gastroenterology and IBD services within the Trust. • Provide consultant-led gastroenterology services across inpatient and outpatient settings. • Deliver specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with IBD. • Participate in elective and emergency gastroenterology care, including ward rounds and acute GI service commitments as required. • Undertake diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in line with JAG standards and individual competencies. • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Trust's IBD service, including pathways that support timely diagnosis, treatment optimisation and biologic therapies. • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and collaborative working with colorectal surgery and wider specialist teams. • Support clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service transformation initiatives. • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education and the supervision of junior medical staff.
