What you’ll be doing as an Asset Planner You will own the plan for your sites and systems and stay involved in the plans as they are delivered through the sponsorship model. - Lead the development of integrated site plans by facilitating cross-functional collaboration, identifying interdependencies and determining the optimal sequencing of interventions. - Continuously update and maintain comprehensive site and system-level plans, adapting to project changes and reflecting evolving priorities across the asset lifecycle. - Gather long-term strategic input from Asset Strategy to inform Price Review 29 planning and ensure alignment with future needs. - Develop and prioritise projects for current and future 5-yearly Asset Management Periods (AMPs), incorporating engineering insights and defining technical scope for robust submissions to decision gates. - Create and manage system-wide plans across abstraction, treatment, storage, pumping, and sludge assets—addressing capital maintenance, growth, enhancement, and quality goals. - Deliver on Capital maintenance plans and the efficient spend in relation to asset health and supporting our Outcome Delivery Incentives. - Monitor and evaluate asset condition, maintenance standards and anticipated failure rates. - Support external engagement activities, helping stakeholders understand and align with our strategic plans. Base Location: Hybrid - Base location is flexible across the Thames Valley and Home Counties region but must be able to attend our Reading office every Tuesday. Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday–Friday. We are currently recruiting for a Process Controller for Beddington Sewage Treatment Works. As the Process Controller, you will find that no working day is the same, overseeing the operation of not only Beddington STW but Hogsmill STW in Kingston upon Thames. This will provide a very interesting, challenging, and rewarding working environment. What you’ll be doing as a Process Controller - Waste: - Remote monitoring and control of a range of wastewater treatment processes via SCADA, such as inlet flows to full treatment, storm discharge, ammonia monitoring, digestion and generation via Combined Heat and Power Engines. - Fault finding and intervention to maintain the treatment process. You will also have to respond to emergencies, whether this be process failures or power failures. In such circumstances, you will remain calm and follow established procedures to escalate and then stabilise the process or isolate/identify the issue in hand. - Comply with operational standards, completing necessary documentation including shift logs - Taking responsibility for your own Health and Safety and Health and Safety on site. - You will highlight safety observations and take action to make the area safe where possible. - You may be required to contribute to risk assessments and procedures that contribute to improving Health and Safety standards on site. - Liaise with other departments including key personnel such as our Process Scientist, Maintenance, various principal contractors and other stakeholders that support Beddington and Hogsmill. - Maintain own technical knowledge/Training and keep up to date with changes in procedures and asset standards. Base location – Beddington STW, CR0 4TH Working pattern or hours – 38 hours a week, on a rota shift of 6 am till 6pm or 6pm till 6am. 3 days, 4 nights, 10 days off, 4 days, 3 nights, 18 days off. To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is: - We are looking for someone who has Process and Waste Treatment experience and is hands-on and practical with impeccable attention to detail and troubleshooting skills. - As this is a shift role, you will be working a 12-hour rotating shift and must be able to work unsupervised for long periods and be available to cover shifts as required by the TW shift agreement. - Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills are essential as you will need to use email and operate plant computers/SCADA equipment. We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to Join our team at Slough Sewage Treatment Works. As the successful candidate, you will be using your mechanical & electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites. What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical & Electrical Technician - Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns. - You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. - You will be expected to provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required. - Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment. - Participate in a standby rota following the relevant training. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician to be based at our water production site in Bourne End, SL8 5NT. As a successful candidate, you will be using your mechanical & electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites. What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical & Electrical Technician - Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns. - You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. - You will be expected to provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required. - Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment. - Participate in a standby rota following the relevant training. Base Location: Bourne End WTW, Wendover Road, Bourne End, SL8 5NT Working Pattern: 38 Hours, Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase the earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training. We are looking for a Process Controller to join Thames Water on a permanent basis. Working as part of a team of process controllers you will be responsible for the effective running of Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works 24 hours a day. This is done using SCADA and responding to specific situations to ensure the relevant processes are brought under control or escalated to an event. Out of hours you will be the responsible person on site and will direct the Process Technicians to ensure that services are delivered in accordance to standards. What makes this role unique? Every working day is different at Maple Lodge, which provides a very interesting, challenging and rewarding working environment. You will be at one of the biggest sewage treatment works on the Thames Water Estate and will receive full training and support for the Health & Safety, technical and process requirements related to the plant. What you will be doing as a Process Controller - Being responsible for the overall operation of the Sewage Treatment Works and associated outstations for the plant and equipment. - Monitoring, collating and reporting data in order to ensure that statutory and regulatory compliance is met and the site meets regulatory quality standards and customer demand. - Processing faults and advise suitable rectification by first fix, raising issues to the Site Management Team. - Carrying out isolations to plant and issuing Permits to work as part of a safe system of work - Assisting with on-site capital project works, co-ordinate maintenance and operational personnel raising reactive work when required. - Monitoring stock levels and request and take deliveries as required. - Undertaking safety and security checks and taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues. - Operate and monitor the processes from the Control room using SCADA, and where necessary, go into the process area to carry out operations and when required, inspect the process area’s. - Undergo training in safety procedures including confined space entry. What skills are required for this role? - Must be a team player. - SCADA experience. - Wastewater process experience and the ability to coordinate & prioritise work. - Qualification in a technical discipline M, E or ICA would be advantageous (with Technical City and Guilds, ONC/OND, HNC/HND or equivalent) - You must be able to work unsupervised on 12-hour shifts days and nights. - Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems. - Full UK Driving Licence.
