Summary
Learning Support Assistant
Location: Across London
£13 to £16 per hour | £97.50 to £120 per day
Why this role?
An LSA in a specialist setting usually works 1:1 with a named pupil, as their primary support throughout the school day - a consistent, regulated presence that makes the difference between a young person accessing the curriculum or not. If that steady, patient consistency is your strength, London's SEND and SEMH schools need it.
A typical week could include
- Targeted, in-class or withdrawal support for a named pupil, often linked to their EHCP
- Encouraging learning, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or communication needs
- Building trusted, consistent relationships
What you'll need
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or learning needs
- Enhanced DBS with children's barred list
- Level 2 Safeguarding certificate
- Two phone-verified professional references
- Right to work in the UK
Even better if you have
- SEMH and AP settings experience
- SEND and autism awareness
- EHCP-linked support experience
- Positive behaviour support training
