We care
That’s why we need people like you who care about your colleagues .. People who take pride in helping others succeed, sharing their knowledge, and creating safer, more confident teams.
At Clancy, we know that having the right skills and knowledge makes all the difference. We're looking for someone with practical experience who can pass on their knowledge, help others build their confidence and play a part in developing the skills we need across our business.
The Role...
As a Trainer, you'll play a vital role in developing the skills and knowledge of our workforce across the utilities sector. Using your experience in training delivery and water network operations, you'll provide engaging classroom, practical and site based learning that equips our teams to work safely, effectively and to the highest standards.
This role is suited to an established trainer who is confident delivering accredited programmes, assessing competence and supporting learners throughout their development journey. You'll work closely with our Learning & Development team to ensure training remains relevant, compliant and impactful.
Based primarily in the South East, you'll help foster a culture of continuous improvement and make a genuine difference to the development and performance of our people.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...
- Delivering engaging classroom, practical and on site training across water network operations and utility activities.
- Training, coaching and assessing learners against National Occupational Standards (NOS), industry requirements and Clancy procedures.
- Delivering accredited programmes, including Utility Skills, Street Works (NRSWA) and Emergency First Aid at Work.
- Carrying out formal assessments and competency evaluations in line with awarding body requirements.
- Providing coaching, guidance and constructive feedback to support learner development.
- Maintaining accurate training and assessment records, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.
- Collaborating with the Learning & Development team to continuously improve training materials, programmes and learner outcomes.
- Keeping training knowledge, industry expertise and professional qualifications up to date.
We would love to hear from you if…
You're an experienced trainer with a strong background in the utilities sector, ideally within water network operations, and a genuine passion for developing others. You'll bring a solid understanding of mains and service laying, network construction, repair and maintenance activities, along with proven experience delivering engaging training programmes, assessing competence and coaching individuals to achieve industry recognised standards. We're looking for someone who can combine practical operational knowledge with excellent communication skills, inspiring learners and helping them build the confidence, skills and behaviours needed to perform safely and effectively. You'll hold an EUSR Water Hygiene Card and a full UK driving licence, with the flexibility to travel as required. Qualifications such as a Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water), NRSWA, Emergency First Aid at Work, and teaching, training or assessor qualifications such as AET, CAVA or TAQA would be advantageous, but most importantly, you'll have a proven track record of delivering high quality training within the utilities, water or wider infrastructure sector and a commitment to helping others succeed.
