Help shape smarter electricity network management

Ready to put your control systems expertise at the heart of operational innovation? Join UK Power Networks and help deliver the technology that enhances low-voltage network visibility, supports operational decisions and keeps critical control systems reliable.

Your expertise. Real operational impact.

Reporting to the Control Systems Delivery Manager, you'll develop, configure and support our Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and associated operational technology. Working with engineering, GIS and operational teams and external suppliers, you'll:

* Deliver GIS-ADMS network model integration to support LV Management.

* Implement enhancements, interfaces, upgrades and new functionality.

* Use Linux administration, scripting and automation to improve efficiency.

* Troubleshoot application, database and network issues, supporting testing, controlled releases, resilience and cyber security.

Bring your technical strengths

You'll bring a relevant engineering, computing or IT degree, or equivalent industry experience, alongside proven GIS-ADMS integration experience in utilities or distribution networks and experience supporting and delivering ADMS, DMS, SCADA or OT applications in critical environments.

You'll need strong Linux administration, Oracle/SQL database and scripting skills, using Python, Shell or equivalent. An understanding of power networks, SCADA architecture, telemetry, RTUs and industry communications protocols is essential, together with system integration, troubleshooting and structured change/release management experience. Clear communication and effective stakeholder management will help you succeed.

Experience with GE Vernova PowerOn ADMS S6, GE Smallworld GIS, APIs/middleware, OT cyber security, DevOps or disaster recovery would be advantageous.

A rewarding package

Alongside £84,160 and a 3% bonus, enjoy 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and employer pension contributions of 8% or 10% when you contribute 4% or 5%. Blended working is available after your six-month probation: three days in the office and two remote. Benefits also include reservist leave, tenancy deposit and season ticket loans, Cycle to Work, Home & Tech and Green Car Leasing schemes, occupational health support, retail discounts, discounted gym membership and an Employee Assistance Programme.
